Had a little bit of time to do some messing around with the front wheel/calipers(yeah the new ones turned up, got a set of GSXR600 ones, cos they've got a black finish rather than the zx6r gold) /spacers etc.

This is not 100% yet as I've still got to try it all, but it looks like it may be possible to fit the zxr400 wheel, with KR1 (280mm) discs quite easily

The 400 axle needs bushing up, which I've got being done. It then looks like if 3mm is taken fom the spacer and 3mm from the speedo drive housing and axle bush, it should all fit.

I suppose the easiest way is to get a 636b1 wheel, but they're not too cheap, then you've still got the problem if the yoke centes are different plus you've got to get an electronic speedo sorted as well.

Hopefully the above way might work and you get to keep a mechanical speedo drive.

Only thing I'm short of is a kr1 disc (one of, not bothered if it's shagged just need it to line everything up, if it works I'll get another pro-lite to match the other one I got in a batch of bits) So anyone got a spare knackered kr1 disc or a decent one I can borrow for a bit, thanks in advance?

Shimmer (or anyone else that is an RGV forum member), can you please copy the post about the airbox and paste it in, as we arn't all members there.

Cheers, Scott.

just had a look now and i cant find the exact bit, but i think the general gist was to fill the area behind the carb's with expanding foam and then cut it out when it has gone off so it give's u a shape to work with.

A 1 disc would be favourite, just easier to try the 280mm ones first.
Be a big help if you could, like I say a loan of would be great. Stupidly I got rid of all my kr1 stuff.

No, easier with a zxr400 front wheel, main reason is the space between the discs, KR1 and S are fairly narrow, can't remember exactly about 127mm, zxr400 is about 145mm. The reason I need a 1 disc is size, it's the same dia as a 636 but has the correct offset to work with the zxr wheel (I hope).

Think the best bet is whatever yokes you use try and use the same wheel, in theory they are going to be easier to get everything to fit. Of course you don't have to do this and I'm sorting two zxr400l fronts with 1s wheels at the moment, but in those cases it's pretty much replicating what I've already done. This one with the 636 forks is all new to me and it's changing as it goes and new parts arrive.

Not much happening with this at thew moment been busy with other stuff.

But some new bits have turned up, these are the bushes to mount the zxr400l spindle into the 636 fork legs. Had 'em done in stainless-20 quid

Got this sorted for cnc now, so will be able to get more done in the future if anyone wants them.

Just waiting on the spacer and the modified speedo drive, hopefully by weekend. The idea with the speedo drive is for it to be angled downwards so that the actual cable will come out and run paralell to the bottom radial caliper mount, this will have a small cable guide fixed to the bottom of it to keep it in place, then another cable guide fixed onto the bottom caliper mounting bolt will guide it round and up-hopefully  Think I may need a longer speedo cable, but if I do I'll get Venhill to make one up, think they do custom cable stuff?

Other than that, got a new tank, single seat converter and a few other bits for it coming, think the rear end might be changing next, dunno, bought an nc30 swingarm (yeah dead heavy blah blah blah  )

look good, only : tyhe forks won't tighten the spindle anymore, only the bushes, so the spindle might come out during riding ... :-k

I made the same stuff, but drilled a hole in de spacers and welded them onto the spindle so everything is tightenned

Take your point Jan, they are all an exceptionally tight fit and when bolted up all is solid, but might put a pin in for peace of mind.
