Nope I sold the crap OEM ditch finder tyres within a week of buying the bike new. Fitted a set of Pilot Power to her instead, swapped the rear shock and fork internals for some proper Ohlins stuff and fitted some decent rearsets and a steering damper. (oh fitted a de-restricter, exhaust system and powercommander as well) That girl used to fly, she was limited to 186mph when new but with that little bit of engine work she was clocked at a fraction over 200mph  :D .

Whil'st Nostalgia is a wonderful dream....
And reading the riders comments
on the pick of bunch of strokers...
Mgtkr1...
In FAST BIKES... seems they were a tad hard..
And .... makes you think they rate these
against the modern missels..we know..
Its great to look back...
i know i have a garage full of dreams of
yester year...
Thats where it is....
They are slow...
and are nearly 20 yrs old..
so thats progress..
Hey who would have a Cortina 2ltre..with a kent engine..etc
against a Vxr vectra... and say the tina wollows...and
etc,,,,...

There Smiles per hour.....
and reasonably quick....

As standard I agree, but tune the engine slap some decent suspension on them and ride it like you stole it and believe me you can give a good few of the newer bikes a run for thier money. I love it on a trackday when someone comes up and asked what size engine is in the bike as you passed them on the track on their new 600/750/1000 bike. They just can't get their head around the fact that they were beaten by a 19 year old 250cc bike      .

I remember watching MJ having a play with a lad on a new GSXR1000 at Cadwell. For three or four laps the Gixer managed to hang on to MJ and even pass him along the start finish straight only for MJ to repass him going into Coppice. Lap after lap MJ pulled out a bigger lead until the Gixer couldn't pull the distance back on the straight and MJ was gone :D . He came to see us in the paddock and couldn't believe what bike he had just been beaten up by

heres a couple of pics, shite quality mind. really need a proper camera rather than stealing my sons all the time. im a bit worried i might stumble accross summat i shouldnt!! he's suddenly grown up into a mini me. anyway, not sure if you can see the q/release brackets for fairing/tank and q/turn for the seat. i can have to full kit off in 30secs. try getting a gixer undressed in that time!

some cracking bikes, particularly impressed with the pipes that janbros slaved over. the dutch kr1s red/grey or silver? is very nice4 looking aswell. i need a deisel at some point to potter about on. something steady. not sure id have a beemer but if long distance work was on the agenda i dont think the big gs can be bettered by much from what i hear? also good for pretending to be ewan mcgregor or the other fella. carl boatman or summat?
