billet clutch inner stars to be manufactured

Post by Charles »

Hi,

several people asked if I could have some clutch stars made. I can have a batch of them produced. They will be made of Aero grade Billet, just like the F3 valves, so they won't be as vulnerable as the original cast ones.

For those who don't immediately know what a clutch star is, it's this:

One clutch star will cost Euro 30,00 plus postage. The only problem I guess will be the minimum batch size of 50stars :?

I would like to know if/how many people are interested in these clutch start. If there's not enough interest, I'll just bin the whole idea.

cheers,
Charles

behind this thing sits the 5 clutch springs. bye tightening this thing, you put pressure on the springs, and doing it wrongly, it can snap on one off the 5 holes
My ultimate goal is to die young as late as possible !

Hi Nick,

thanks, added your name to the list.

Will try to convince Herbert to produce 20 stars for the price of the 50 stars batch size. We'll never reach 50 stars, I guess.

No, I'm not  I'm just an agricultural engineer (specialized in tropical soil science, what am I doing here in germany) who's bored with his job and who's lucky enough to have a mate who owns a CNC-milling business.

Ordered 30stars (so 11 stars still available) today, they will be ready by Mid-January.

Price still is 30.00 euros plus p&p, despite the smaller batch size.

Billet aluminium has already been ordered.

Will keep you posted on any progress.

I gave Herbert 3 stars to measure, so possible wear of one star won't affect the new ones.
