Yes that's right, I believe the black is the undercoat Kawasaki used at the time.
It's a lot of work polishing it all back. I used a fine wet and dry to get back to the bare aluminium and then polished it back with brasso to get that finish.
There may well be easier ways to do this though, but if you have a polishing wheel, that will make life easier.

Here are some naked pictures of the bike.
I went for some of the BT090's in the end, as I couldn't get hold of any Alpha 10's.
I've added a cold air intake running into the front of the air box. The front end connects to the air intake scoop on the front of the nose cone.
I've fitted some of Sivert Raask's rearsets, which are slightly higher and further back than the OEM peg configuration.
On the front I've added some GSX1400 6 pot calipers

they are bolt on. same as Gixxer 1000 K1-2 calipers.
But from what I've heard, they don't perform better than 4-pots, but they add unsprung weight.
I thinck you're better off using 4-pots like from a CBR600RR '04, or SV1000. if you do a search on theforum, you'll find a topic on them.

You're sure, Jan? I thought you needed bushes to fit them? Those that reddevil used to make:JanBros wrote:they are bolt on.

to me , that's as simple as "bolt on"Charles wrote:You're sure, Jan? I thought you needed bushes to fit them? Those that reddevil used to make:JanBros wrote:they are bolt on.
