Got bored yesterday so I made a new filter support as the one in the bike was a bit dodgy. I have not been able to find a pic of what is supposed to be there so had to wait until I had a good idea on what to build. Here is what the po had installed...
Here is the new one I made up, took about an hour. Works much better. It doesn't fall in and block the intakes.
Nice job Falconman, a quick coat of paint and it will be fantastic.
The original was a plastic grate with one central rib length ways down the box (about 4mm across) and three cross ribs equally spaced along the length of a similar width.
WOW! After seeing the factory version I guess I did do pretty good! I used 1/8" (just over 3mm) welding rod, cut and bent each piece then laid out on an aluminum plate to weld. Now that this one is done I can use it as a pattern to make the next one in stainless. The next time I get bored.
