KR250 's'
Hi all, am looking at a tandem 84 model for sale interstate, have only seen a few pics, the mirrors are fairing mounted, does that mean it's an 's'model? Owner doesn't know what powervalves even are, how could i get more info? Is there an obvious way of checking, as in asking him to have a closer look? He doesn't know what to be looking for!! And i've never seen an 's'up close either!! Help please!!! got 2 days till it's sold!!!

No, as people have already said in your other post, fairing-mounted mirrors do not make an 'S'. Incidentally, neither the 'S' model nor fairing-mounted mirrors were released until 1985...
You need to look at the top-end of the engine, on the left-hand side. If you can see a thick pipe running along the head connecting the exhaust ports together, and a round servo-motor underneath it, then it's an 'S'.
Basically everything you can see in the graphic below, or the bits between the bottom of the fairing panel and the 3 water pipes on the photo below that.
Otherwise it's just an ordinary KR250 with fairing-mounted mirrors. And there's nothing wrong with that - buy it anyway.

That's standard on all the Tandem Twins, just not something that most people notice.
