KR1 B2 Engine Re-con

Post by oddjob »

I have just bought a KR1 B2 and need some advice. The bike is in a bit of a state and has not been on the road since 2005. I don,t want to take the engine apart as i don,t now how. Does any one know of a person who could take it apart, check the crank, big end, small end etc and repair any faults. I don,t know the history of the engine or the mileage. Cheers

Welcome to the forums.

There are quite a few of us that have the experience to do this for you and there are specialist companies about, whom would do complete rebuilds for you.

I'm based in the Midlands, so don't know of any specifically in your area, but it depends how far you are willing travel too.

I'm sure there's someone here in your area who would check it over for you for you for a small fee.

Even if there's nothing wrong with it, the chances are the crank seals will need replacing at the very least.

Good luck, Ben

Hi Oddjob,

I build/ rebuild Kr engines! I'm on the Isle of Wight which could be a minor problem but I hope not!

Best regards,

Hi Oddjob

Try Grampian Motors in Bootle, as he's only about 10 miles from you (Southport) Bruce is the man you need to speak to, top bloke & knows his stuff inside out

Sorry Darren i'm not trying to steal your thunder on this one mate, just thought it might be a bit more practical for Oddjob
