Hi Ian, welcome to the forum fella,

Got to ask though, what is to restore? That looks fantastic 8)

It's nice to hear it running, mine hasn't been started for about 3 weeks :( But it's only because the tank & fairings are off for a respray \:D/

Finally

The bike isnt as nice as it looks, im estimating £4k for the restoration.
After i had it delivered i notice the two mountings on the frame for the fairing bracket have been broken and welded on badly and i will need a top fairing as it looks like Stevie Wonder has repaired it.

I will be at least summer until i start the restoration due to buying a new house with no garage, so i will have to put one up.

Here is a video of my other bike i rebuilt hope you like it.

Hi Ian welcome to the forum your KR1 looks like a cracker.

Hi and welcome to one of the best bike forums on the net!
I think your Red KR1 looks sweet - are you really expecting to spend £4000 on the refurb? Seems a lot of cash (or does this include the cost of buying the bike?). Surely more like £400?

Liking the other green meanie too
If it takes more than 2strokes then your just playing at it..

Im going to have to get a top fairing and a total respray, then everything needs a refurb, i rang Stan Stevens for an estimate for the motor rebuilding and vapor blasting & polishing and i wont get change out of £1500.

Im going to take my time with it as i want a show piece.

I may do the motor myself as ive been a mechanic 26yr just never had alot to do with 2 strokes.

Certainly looks like a good starting point for a superb restoration that KR.
If it comes out anything like your big Z it should be a stunner!
Welcome

When ive got room to start on the bike i will be having alot of parts aqua blasted.

Just on with moving into my other house and it only has a small shed and a brick outbuilding just big enough for the bike to be stored in,
Our lass had to do alot of convincing for me to rent out the other house as it has a very large garage and i could have started the bike straight away.

So for the next 6mths i will be collecting new and used parts i will need for the rebuild.
