dyno run tommoro

Post by fred »

ive never seen or been to have it done ,sort of know the fella, i can do any work while its there,so have me tools jets and a remote fuel resevour, is there any doos and donts as i dont know how good the owner of the dyno is ,all i can pick up on videos is ,make sure its warmed up ,and has been taken up through the rev ranges to clear the pipes ,any help would be greatly recieved , the bikes been on the road 2 months ,set it up by ride n feel ,weathers been naff realy and generally do only 20 miles scooting about ,i recon it could do with richening up from standstill ,seems clean to 9 or ten grand when it stutters then clears up ,and from standstill it doesnt rev out in first or second (in my mind it seems it needs more air) once your rolling its fine in all gears :?:

ime going t change 1 thing at a time ,cdi, then coil ,then go down a jet ,does anyone know equivelent jetting for 155 rd to 152.5 to keihin originalls
3 times in the last week ive lost the sparks so it may be the cdi ,so ile put the old un back on,i dont rekon fuel would do that

Have you had any modifications done on this bike?

I don't mean to be blunt, but it's seriously down on power.

Iam never to sure how to read dyno charts, the three different colours does that mean three different runs "but they all say test 2" and the best was 41.9.?

Air Fuel Ratio would also be useful too - what does the plug colour look like?

changed the cdi back to the kr1s one and it revs now but running rich ,was going to cut the back half of the airbox lid off to sort the richness up (i dont want to go down to 152.5 rd jets) then before i had chance to do this the left piston snagged a ring ,completely my fault using a old piston [-X ,it needed a replate anyway ,so one step forward one step back

Are you using 28 or 35mm Carbs. If on 28mm if your engine is built properly you can with care go down to 130 jets on the dyno. 152 is massively bigger than anything I ran when on 28mm Carbs.

is that with rd type jets mark :?: yep its 28mm carbs 45 pilots ,welded and flowed cased, mild steel copies of lomas pipes ,when i damaged the left piston a few months back it could of been detonation but i havent got that much experience so put it down to being lean

this evening i had a good read and had another look at the piston with a eye glass from a few weeks back, it was detonation ,so ime going to rebuild it with a 1mm sqiush this time ,and check compression, well you live and learn , knowing this now will help me get the mixture right as i was going down the wrong track

I run 40's in my 28's and with that setup I'm getting around 60bhp. Squish at around 0.7-0.8mm.
Running RD main jets up to 152.5 in colder autumn conditions, with an open air box configuration.

do you think the pattern head gasket had a effect ,its not a ideal match to the barrel or combustion chamber ,cheers for the info ,i feel loads better knowing it was det ,just been printing of some variouse base gaskets and buying a original head gasket from corby before i do any more
