Will you be putting a rear hugger on it to stop all the throwoff the rear wheel going into your airbox intake?

Bernie as you correctly observed , another naturally fast red one. At this rate of emergence of good red uns, we will outnumber the green lads in about 2028,EYREY1 wrote:that looks fast stood still

Re: My newly acquired 1992 KR1-S race bike !!!
My airbox intake is at the front of the airbox with a ram air snorkel coming out to just above the radiator, battery box is at the rear. Incidentally I'm thinking of dumping the airbox altogether and running with open carbs (easier to get the jetting right) like we used to on our TZ's. Does the SV650 rear hugger need much modding to fit the KR1-S ?????500bernie wrote:Will you be putting a rear hugger on it to stop all the throwoff the rear wheel going into your airbox intake?

it might be easier but you'll lose some power.
and it puts more strain on the intake rubbers.

I also put my battery at the rear of the bike and extended the airbox into the battery box compartment for a bit more volume (ever little helps).
Also, although you have a cracking looking fairing (looks like burning blood RS250), do you think you'll have enough ground clearance?
I had such issues with mine that it scarped so much, until there was nothing left around the rear of the spannies.
