Exhaust drain

Post by saeid »

In order to prohibit the bike spitting oil from exhaust, I removed the lower forward securing bolt of covers, replaced it with a hollow stud + lock nut connected to a rubber hose as per photos. Stud should not be inserted deep inside, few threads only to hold itself.

I'm using this arrangement for 2 months, no spitting and dirty oil is draining nicely down the hoses. No major modification.

And here is the latest photo I took from my KR. :D

Nice modification, it should also allow any water to drain out since the water will be below the oil. Must improve the corrosion resistance of the cans.

Not sure, haven't seen one as I remember.
This one is not registered and I'm riding it illegally!
Since it is 2 stroke and over 10 years of age.
