Just above the clutch operating arm, on a nicely cast lug, have a look at pics 5-6 in the link

sorry forgot, the frame number is stamped on the RH side of the headstock, same as 'every' other bike.

top picture behind the clutcharm there must be the number .
if it is not there it is possible the have changed the cases with new ones at one point, and than there is no number stamped in the cases.

Yes that's right, probably under the frame, but follow it back towards the middle of the engine, and it should be stamped on a shamfered casting, on the front edge of the top crankcase. You should be able to see it without ripping anything off.

There is a possibility it's been filed off, for some reason, as I think it's a solid casting??

The only thing you can do to check is to lower the engine by taking the upper enginebolt out of the frame.

if there is none marked in the cases, just have one stamped in them.

Re: sorry... where is the engine and chassis number located
I borrowed a stamp set from a blacksmith to do a chassis number on a kit car - just make up any number and register it with that!JanBros wrote:if there is none marked in the cases, just have one stamped in them.
