Hi Guys, I've been chasing the rust holes in my tank, I then made a hole to have a look inside and it's full of it, both bottom corners have rusted through, my brother had a go at tig welding but the metal is rusted so thin! I'm not fussed amount the originality of the bike, it's painted silver and black,Anyway I've been looking at RS125 tanks, plastic inner and outer, the model without the side fuel tap but a vacuum tap, the shape looks very similar, I don't mind making new attachment brackets the only issues I can think of are the side panels to the bottom of the tank alinement, the total length front to back, fuel light wiring, fuel flow from the tap and another key. It may be also possible to use the inner tank from the RS and cut the bottom of the kr1 tank out, and use it as a cover?
I like a challenge also.

Re: Alternative fuel tank?
I placed a few tanks on a frame I was doing once (SZR660), an NSR250 fitted (but was a little bit longer) RGV250, looks like it could fit quite well, and also fitted the KR1 tank, all very similar, and if you're handy with a welder, then I doubt it would cause any problems for you, from memory the biggest issue was the fuel tap placement.

Hi SP_BOTT,
I've just bid on a tank from an RS125, not sure what year but information from the seller about dimensions look good, and it comes with a tap and fuel cap/key. Fingers crossed.
