Been poking around and it's a fuchs dyno Dan. It woild read higher than James', but they are generally a lower reading dyno, so these figures are good.

he got the bike done at dave wood racing in Aylesbury. [I did speak to krazy kat on the phone before going to dave wood racing but unfortunately he was less than helpfull. ] [his website goes on about how he wants to try all sorts of tuned and standard two strokes, but even when I told him the spec of this bike and the sort of bhp figures it may get, he was,nt really bothered, does,nt matter as I will now go to dave wood racing and recommend it to other members,
he did the dyno runs and I adjusted the carbs changing the jets and settings,
the bike ended up running.

42 pilots
needle 2 nd position from top
and 155 mains with 66 bhp at the back wheel and 72 bhp at the crank.
When did you speak to James?

why would this [correct dyno] read higher than krazy kat dyno.
sorry ben but you are wrong.
am afraid thats because this bike has turned out right and is the most powerfull kr1s to date and some people will always pass some sort of maybe neg comment.
this bike has a genuine 66 bhp at the back wheel. and if it was,nt a 300cc and a 250 it would more than likely still have 60bhp.

Dyno readings vary Martin that's a fact and I'm not being negative, I'm trying to establish a comparison.

whatever. bla bla bla
not going to comment on this anymore. krazy kat dyno is only 1 dyno out of 100,s in the country

am also surprised ben as you have met me and you know what I am capable off and my knowledge of bikes and engines.
no one questioned the 57bhp figure of 9005rpms race bike that was built by me last year. [on the same CORRECT READING dyno] ] but because these figures of garys special kr1ss are so high. we are getting in to [sorry to say it, but being like other forums]
this is pissing me off!!!

 come on Martin, everyone knows that one dyno is never the same as the next. I also spoke to James and he doesn't recall speaking to anyone with a KR-1S in months.

he is a liar. and am surprised with you.

I phoned him twice.
you don't need to tell me how dynos differ. as unlike some people,i do my own spannering

bhp figures, = little dicks = big dicks.

He's not lieing, he just doesn't recall speaking to anyone with a KR in several months, which is why I asked when you spoke to him. Saying he didn't seem bothered or interested, seems quite out of character.

Why are you surprised with me?

I repeat ben, he is a liar. I spoke in great depth with him telling him the spec of the engine. trying to sort something out time wise because I work nights. 1st phone call, saying we can sort something out sat afternoon/teatime. then second phone call saying sorry mate but you will have to be here before 9am sat . bla bla bla

and I also must say I mentiond I was a kr1s forum member , so he knew. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

com on ben , why would I lie what dyno company I go to

Its pretty easy

300/250 * 55 = 66

Unless a kr has never made 55 bhp :)

Reading posts can be taken both ways
I dont believe Ben was doubting the result

You have to put alot of trust in them, and not all operators are sympathetic
Ive been at places where customers answer the phones becuse the operator is flat out
Martin didnt get the response he was after so he went somewhere more accomodating

I have no reason to doubt anything and am far from suggesting anyone is lieing, I just know that dyno's vary from one make to the next and I dare say a fair few people have not experienced this make of dyno before, so I was merely interested in a benchmark for comparison. It's no big deal and as I said previously, 66bhp is still a good figure which ever way you look at it.

Even between the same brand dynos can vary a fair bit even the placement of the weather station can cause variations. Best way to compare outputs is from a known engine like a stock R6 etc
Thing that's odd with the graphs posted is there is little variation between runs.

Interesting thread. Do you have programmable ignition/power valve control? I ask as there is quite a drop in power when the power valves open. A delay in opening may smooth the curve. Most KR exhibit the step and it gets worse when the kips are lifted.
i will be interested to hear how it hangs together as KR barrels are barely able to contain the standard power. Is it on a steel liner or the barrel bored and plated?

@ Martin : I don't thinck Luders or anyone is doubting your expertise or the figures.
but why you react so "angry" on a simple question like Ben asked is beyond me.

Even going to the same bank with totaly different weather conditions can "make or brake" an engine (not literaly, but like "wow, that's strong" or "mmm, I expected more").
the most powerfull kr1s to date
bold statement based on what ? When I had my engine done in Holland when I started racing , he showed me a lot of runnings from different motor's he had done, and they all had 72-73 BHP at the cranck. and they were 250's.
I'm not saying you didn't do a good job, nor that you shouldn't be proud of it, please be ! But bold statements need hard(er) evidence ...
My ultimate goal is to die young as late as possible !
