Coming together now
Robbed the Olhins steering damper of our ZX10, bolted straight on.
Bought a RGV hollow swinging arm spindle of E Bay for 99p !, had to lob 40mm of and rethread as it was too long.
Finally got rebuilt crank, new rods and pistons back from Grampian motors.
Before I rebuild I have a few questions regarding pistons and should I be bothered with flowing crankcases. I have a lot on but basically I am lazy and just want it built.
I will have to do another couple of threads as I can only load 3 pics max ?

Flowing the cases is a great mod and doesn't really cost anything more than a few hours work. It won't compromise the reliability, but make a big difference to performance.
If you want to do it, I will give you a call Friday.

Bike is ready and we have entered a race here on 22nd March. Our rider Billy Redmayne works in UK but is over that weekend to try it out and dial in suspension.
That was a good tip Prof to use air gun on weeping Allen bolts on fork bottoms. Sorted.
Bought 14t front and 40t and 42t rear sprockets to optimise gearing for local tracks.
Now for some questions ---
We are using std wheels/tyres so is there anything to be gained by fitting a 150 tyre on rear as opposed to 140 std?
I am building spare motor with the overhauled crank, Grampian supplied new pistons, R/H side one (see pics) but can anyone identify the other 2?. The L/H one came out of first rebuild of race bike and I guess its std KR1S the middle one came out of the spare motor which was running KR1 barrels? I am curious that's all

Hi, regarding wheels and tyres. I run a standard KR1-S front and a Suzuki RGV (vj22) 17 inch rear, this allows you to run (in my humble opinion) the best tyres possible, Pirelli Supercorsa's, 110/70/17 front and 150/60/17 rear. The front is available in SC1 compound only and the rear in either SC1 or SC2 compound, they cost around £280 per pair. Hope this helps.

Gearing as standard is 15t front and 41t rear. I would have thought this best for the fast TT course. I wouldn't have thought gearing down was the way to go at the TT but for short circuits either down one at the front to a 14t OR up 3 or 4 at the rear to a 44t/45t.

Those ones on the right look closest to OEM and the lightest. Have you weighed them yet?
And I agree with you Jan
