i think i have cracked the splutter in the carbs and it runs like a different bike on low revs now
All i did was change the airscrews for new ones
I looked at the taper on the old ones and they looked a bit chewed
so put in some new ones and hey presto.
I also put markers on the throttle so i could see where the splutter was and it was happening in between 1/4 and 1/3 throttle so small openings.
I can't believe though how much difference new airscrews made
Not sure what the difference is HC but that link says the KR1S needles are N68X & KR1 needles are the N68A, had a set of each so put the Xs in on clip 4 here's hoping [-o<
As far as the comparison between these & JJH needles the diameter is the same for both but the taper for the N68 needles is fatter making them a leaner needle
When i had the JJH needles fitted ,from cold the bike kinda hit a wall at 4K until warm then was o.k.
With N68 needles fitted the bike never hesitated from cold so to me wouldn't that make them richer ?
Not sure but I would have thought that if the taper was fatter along it's entire length that would allow less fuel to pass by at any given opening making the mixture leaner
