All the Rd boys use split links and look at the extra power they put out :lol:

Just my 2 peneth but I reasoned that if a KTM 525 and the likes can run a split link then your safe on a KR1s. I've had dirt bikes since I was about 15 and never known one go. I've seen chains snap but never at the split link.

same as pablo, but i was advised by a mechanic he said i had a death with when i used a link on my old kr1 back in the day, so there you have it just sending on some advise i had, but definitely right i have never had a link go either, i remember and old bultaco 350 we had when we were kids i think it had 3 links in it we didn't care back then, cheers wayne.

I always go for the link, I hate endless chains. Too much work to change it :x
And a real pain in the ass when you're on a trackday and want to change the sprockets in such a way you need a shorter/longer chain.

I really really hate endless chains :mrgreen:

I've only once had a broken chain, and it wasn't the link ... :wink:

Yes Pablo your right, i had my zx7 serviced once £350, got 200 yrds down the road and it cut out, mmm, a beating was on the cards but lucky for him it was only a crimped fuel pipe.

I've never had a split link go riding on the road, i was very nieve in practice at the manx in 1990. I only got to Ballacraine,7 miles out. You wouldn't believe the pounding everything gets at the iom. #-o
