Looking at that pic it makes you think,if h***a didnt see any gain in doing it with Upgrades for a GP bike then will it make any difference to my old KR?
Probably Not.
I know it made Sweet FA of difference on my h***a RS125. 8)

1.^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Yes, you only have to ask yourself why the oil holes are there
and why you would want to make them smaller

you dont see them on racecars or aircraft (save for speculation on MIG fighters)
and the engine case insides mostly are concave rather than convex
but it will make your crankcase ever so slightly lighter even if it does nothing O:)

With textures, best analogy I have read is :
2 sheets of glass placed on top of each other, if you were to put your hands onto the glass and try to make it move, what medium would make it easier?
nothing?
oil?
sand?

Mythbusters actualy golfball dimpled a car despite about 200kg of modeling clay the car got about 5mpg better.

on anything on the induction side i lightly cover everywhere with a stone type rotary tool piece as it gives a nice textured finish. i reckon it helps the mixture atomise. i do polish the ex port, piston crown and combustion chamber as it cuts carbon. even though a race motor isnt together long enough to suffer carbon build up! i also up the size of the oilways when i redrill them. the straw is a good idea though.

YZR500 cases...
Image
^^^^
shows wings over crankwebs
and enlarged lubrication holes due to mixture reduced path to bearings?

I would love to do something like Project RGV 1000 (aka 'Fen Fury') but with CR/KX250 cylinders making total 500cc (and more revability and the piston ported ones to simplify crankcase design)
2TI youre right I think he has made it very difficult with the laid back V configuration - the rear cylinder needs to point towards headstock and front cylinder downwards - like so many strokers in the past

Yeah the poor bastard I felt really bad about putting that to him. I just know who much time alone he has invested in the cases .A contact in the UK is going to help him with the pipes but 'shit creek' was mentioned a bit. Hopefully rgvbaz can sort something out for him.I don't want it collecting dust.
I have a pic somewhere of a Italian special with some sort of 250/500 cylinder on there, they have a KR 250/Exactweld 250 layout with disc valves, makes packaging much better.
