have been busy today,
still waiting for all the nuts and bolts to come back from the platers,but
could,nt stop myself building most of the engine, will look alot better with
all new nuts and bolts on,

Has the engine been painted/powder coated Martin?
Or is that how clean they come up after aqua blasting?

aqua blasting mate,
nos exup [from the forum did it]he may charge a bit more than other aqua blasting people. but like all the other companys i use for restoration
work. i only use the best.
oh and the outer clutch casing is nos
wait until you see the complete bike finished, then i will start kiwi,s bike.

Well Martin, I honestly think you have set the bench mark for the rest of us
That engine looks like its just come from the factory! Full marks to nos exup too.
Looking forward to seeing it with new nuts & bolts.

is the engine oil cap genuine? i've got a poxy slot on top of mine that you have to get a large bladed screwdriver on, is it an upgrade on the 's' model?

it is the correct oil cap for a kr1s. the kr1 [as you say] has a metal flat
slotted one

got the parts back from triple s powdercoat [looks even better in the flesh]
just waiting for the swinging arm to come back from the sprayers /rear shock
to come back from mick gardner racing [had it fully rebuilt] and all the nuts/bolts and bits and bobs from the platers [well,you cant rebuild a bike and put rusty dull bolts back on.
am looking forward to putting the bike back together

all 3 calipers are now done.
all 3 have been stripped/cleaned and re coated.
pistons have been cleaned [they were scratch free]
new stainless steel bolts
new fluid and dust seals
new pad pins and r clips
new ebc pads

What did you do to the rear caliper hanger as far as finish goes, were they black or olive drab? Looking good so far, as to be expected.

rear caliper hanging bracket is in good condition [so the finish is as it
was paul]
only thing left to do is change the allen bolts on the top covers for the origanal phillips screws when they come back from the electroplaters.
