Re: At Last......Putting it back together
Hi Darren,
I will end up at cradley next time I am passing.
Started rubbing down the threaded flange that goes through the riders seat, it was quite pitted where the fixing bolt had been over tightened...

But getting there, I think I will get it black chromed.

Still needs a bit of work, preparation is the key for electroplated finishes. This will go to the platers when I can see my reflection in it.
I will get the fixing bolt done in black chrome to
Just realised I have no idea where my undertray or rear footpeg hangers are?
A visit to the loft tomorrow I think.

Never made it to the loft (later today perhaps)
Started on this

This is proving to be a problem, the heads on the Phillips screws have gone and the nuts are really rusted up

I think it will be a grind off with the dremmel

I hate cost engineering
All these crappy fixings should have been stainless steel

Re: At Last......Putting it back together
I might get to do something with the bike tonight
had a great time at the physio impersonating a pin cushion (acupuncture session), at the moment my arm feels great and is completely pain free
All I kept thinking about was Jet Li in "Kiss of the Dragon", when she told me what she was doing was called "Surround the Dragon", I asked if any of the points were "Very forbidden?" thankfully she said no, I think she thought I was a nutter
Obviously she had not seen the film
(I always tell my dentist that "It is Safe", before he starts, luckily he has seen Dustin Hoffman in The Marathon Runner, so he gets the joke)

To be fair I think the predicted life expectancy on the KR1 was probably substantially less than the time it would take for parts to go rusty!500bernie wrote:

Two stroke and expansion bottles fitted, air box refitted.
I found a rear sub frame that had been powdercoated black (so that got fitted).
Slow going

Re: At Last......Putting it back together
Been struggling to get the lens off the number plate light unit (Completely rusted up), I have left it to soak in a tin of WD40, and see where that goes tomorrow.

I think the whole thing is going to need quite a bit of work
