This is how far ive got...the bodywork is off to Dream Machine...
and hopefuly the frame and the rest will be at the powder coaters
this week... and then next week my parts from mr yam might arrive..
the engine was done about two years ago..and has done about
1200mile since..but i will have a look... i have had a quick look up the exh port and its mega clean...?? but ...ya canny help but look...by strip..
Yeah...yeah .....yeah "whatever"
Its a 500 v4 stroker.......
and yes its skinny and overweight so what??
BUT..when it sback together ..i'll be hearing Yeah
how loverrrrrley>>>>>>
so naff ooooooooooffffffffffff.....
what ya expect from 1986..... Duran Duran...
no bit late...madonna...she's still got it...
and so has the Stroker.......
how about some before pictures of the motor and other interesting bits
is that shock unbolted or does it normally lie under the engine
i could draw a rough picture of an RG500 and have seen pics but not whats underneath an RD/RZ
and is the RD/RZ naming thing a regional thing - I associate RD's with the end of the air cools early waters. mid mid eigthies we had RZ for the LC in NZ
rd500= steel frame rz500=alloy frame and paint changes. its a regional thing i think, japan got the lovely rz. also think the rz v had nicer bits n pieces but ultimatly slower thanks to strangled pipes. the sock is mounted horizontally on these rd's/rz's. waki, will look very nice once its back from the painters. nice to see hopw clean she is underneath. most ive seen suffer from rot/shit in hidden places. personally prefer the mental (at the time) rg500 but something cool about owning a v4 stroker(sort of). the formula 1 racer that had tuned rd5 engine/dymags/harris frame and rg mk7 bodywork is one of my favourite prod based racebikes of all time even if it did only make about 110hp compared to padgetts(darren dixon/mark phillips) m7 gamma/rg500 strret bike hybrids 125hp+!!! read road bike cases, gp everything else!
There's an RZV 500 for sale at Fastline Motorcycles, Preston. Photos of it on their website. Looks nice, but as Waki found out, you never know what's under the bodywork.
Stop annoying me, I'm running out of space to hide the bodies!
is that the same "Magnetic" aluminium they used in the first TZRs and FZR600s? thats a Yamaha private joke DELTABOlloX - Steel made to look alloy.
while the TZR came out a year or so earlier the KR was closer to GP technology.
I remember passing the h***a shop on my way to school each day ('85/'86) stopping to dream about the NS250R in their window they were passing off as the GP rep - was I ignorant. It had mechano spoked wheels not cast (h***a GP tech of '83/'84) Hell Korks bikes had cast wheels in the '70s.
While the true NSR Hond as had all the cutting edge youd never buy one because you knew next year the new model was way cooler - who would even consider buying and MC16 or MC18 today - ugly nasty rubbish
the KR is a 20 year old bike that still holds it own in looks and performance.
STILL will looking forward to the perfection Waki will can weave on the 500
I have taken the Frame and its Belongings to
the Powder Coaters Today....
so it should be back next week??
Oh...and who ever painted it before ..painted it over the original...
so its peeling in places...told you its shite...
looks are very decieving..especially when you ..spend top money
thinking it is Top..... oooooooohhhh no it isnt???
