And thanks for the advice regarding shimming the rear engine mount, i'm glad to hear its a common problem regarding the frame cracking there.

I have just been in the garage making my new powervalve cable, really happy with it! So i now have the powervalves rotating how i want them. I've made a video which i will try and upload here.

The cable i made is at the bottom and the one at the top is the longer of the 2 kips cables.

Video isn't playing ball at the moment but i will sort it.

Also was thinking last night,

I remember helping my friend with setting the powervalves up on his aprilia rs250 a while ago.

The aprilia has powervalves that open in three stages and if i remember right there is a grey wire that if you earth to the frame it moves the powervalve into the middle position i.e for setting the cables up correctly.

Does the kr have a similar function?

I would like to be able to get the motor in the fully open position so that i can set the powervalves easily without guess work. Turning the key on and off until i get the motor in the right place is tedious.

I know i could start the bike up and rev it over 8k or whatever and turn off the key but that means taking the exhausts on and off.

Again any experience in this area would be much appreciated

Project has come to a holt.

I have had the frame welded so that is sorted but i am now going to get the frame powder coated again as the lacquer has cracked in many visible places and i'm not very happy about it!

So until i have got the frame powder coated again i will only be doing little jobs on the bike!

Been a long time since i updated this!

I will be getting the frame back from the powder coaters tomorrow afternoon, so the rebuild will commence once again.

Pics to follow within the next week or so.

Summer is the deadline for me to have a go at riding it!

Right been ages since i updated so here goes:

Got the frame back from powdercoaters and started to put back together.
Yes the bike is in my living room on the first floor lol, i live in a coach house with the garage underneath. I'm sure it will go down the stairs and out the front door lol.

Pretty happy with the satin silver, it looks very factory.

Will add some more pics in the next week or so.

Jobs left to do:

Paint rear brake torque arm
Paint rad guard
Paint bar ends
Polish the crap out of the aluminium bits

Parts left to purchase:

Relevant jets for these bad boys:

Decent throttle tube
Stainless bolts for here and there

Nice rebuild this one, way ahead of mine, as I got the frame back and now don't have a shed.

Do you intend to do anything with the engine and bits, as it kind of lets the side down in looks at the moment??

Keep the pics coming as you progress, great for reference as they're nice and clear too.

I do intend to tidy the engine up eventually but it will be done when i fit a set of kr1s barrels that i have to go on.

Not sure what to do about the colour of the wheels, the powdercoaters said they were kawasaki green but i'm not so sure

the Kawa-green has changed color once (early 2000's somewhere), the lime-green becomming a bit greener. maybe he used the newer Kawa-green ?

And Janbros you could be right about the kwak colours i hadn't thought of that, i actually prefer the green of the wheels to the colour of the panels hmmmmmmmmmm

Might eventually get the bike done in kr1 colours............

I am sure the guy in the Red Bull BMX vids could get it downstairs (on one wheel, backwards, doing a backflip, or out the window)
