Remember if you brace (weld) the barrel it will distort (amount of distortion will depend on whether barrel and brace were pre-heated before welding). The barrel (crankcase side) will need to be skimmed to get it level again. Should only require 0.1 to 0.2 mm but will put your port timing and squish out requiring a thicker base gasket to bring things back.

Yes Mark is correct, the welds pull the base a small amount, so the bases do require skimming. Barrels are away again at my engineers being worked.

Nothing exciting, just tidied the throttle cables up with some ferrules.

Water pump also arrived, so I've made a start on attaching the coolant hoses. Need to wait until the head arrives before I can finish this job though.

hope you cut of the mount for the drain pipes ,or do you need that lug ?

Made a little more progress with my exhausts today, everything is really slow going at the moment.

Those are the lomas pipes Shaun. I just stuck them on to see how it looked, as my custom pipes won't be finished until August. Just got too much else on at the moment to work on them.
