Hi Fred,

Japfest in September (so long as I get the paintwork sorted) :)

October 2010 when I bought the bike and thought I would tidy up a few damaged and scruffy bits, I had no idea (or plans) to do what I did. There has been a few times I thought I would need to sell her as an incomplete project.
But fortunately it is nearly finished \:D/

Cheers
Bernie :)

Hi Jan,

Running it in first, but can't wait to get it flat out
(after a trip to see Mick Abbey and get it set up on the dyno). :)

Cheers

Bernie that's a credit to you mate - we'll done! I'd be happy with it as it is but freshly painted bodywork will be the icing on the cake. Can't wait to see it in person!

All the best

Pleased to say that I eventually found a painter that could fit me in before Japfest \:D/

Steve Shelby - http://www.shelbyart.co.uk/

He did not have enough time to do the plastic welding (as he was almost fully booked up before his holidays), so I have been entertaining my self with a soldering iron....

Left hand side of top fairing.....

Rubbed back and cleaned with solvent...

Given a good seeing to with the soldering iron....

I will smooth it off later, then rub it down to a good finish

Back to the soldering iron :)

I see they have been painted before? That looks like some filler in there as well!!
Good job! The solder does a good job, plenty of melting!!
