swap you some 35mm reed block rubbers?
Sounds interesting, but:
- I haven't been able to find a set of 35mm pwks yet
- if I do I probably won't be able to afford them :?

Today I had the chance to determine the exact postage for a set of valves.
For each country I here list the available shipping options.

UK/Belgium/Finland/France:

standard maxi letter: 3.00€ (not insured, no tracking)
standard maxi letter with tracking: 5.05€
value maxi letter with tracking/insurance up to 200€: 8.05€

Australia
standard maxi letter: 6.00€ (not insured, no tracking)
standard maxi letter with tracking: 8.05€ (insured up to 31.90€)
value maxi letter option is not available for Australia ](*,)

New Zealand
standard maxi letter: 6.00€ (not insured, no tracking)
standard maxi letter with tracking: 8.05€
value maxi letter with tracking/insurance up to 100€: 9.55€
value maxi letter with tracking/insurance up to 200€: 11.05€

USA
standard maxi letter: 6.00€ (not insured, no tracking)
standard maxi letter with tracking: 8.05€ (insured up to 31.90€)
value maxi letter option is not available for Australia ](*,)

I will go the post office tomorrow to check if there really isn't a way to send valuable stuff insured to Australia and the USA, I hope I've overseen something.....

Could everyone please tell me by pm which shipping method they prefer?

Is it ok if I ask 1Euro per buyer for buying envelopes/wrapping material?

Thanks,
Charles

Visited three post offices today to get an answer to my question how to send something valuable insured to Australia/USA. The first two clerks hadn't got any clue, nr. 3 said it would be very expensive.

The only possibility is to send the valves in a 'premium' parcel (insured up to 500€), costing 61 Euros

So we better stick to the standard maxi letter with tracking option, if you agree?

Pretty odd they can't offer reasonable insurance to Aus, but can to NZ :-k

As long as it is airmail with tracking it should be fine, of all the stuff I have bought overseas nothing has been lost in transit yet.

Yes, thinks it's odd too ](*,)

I guess airmail with tracking will be fine, shipped some stuff to Australia some time ago and it didn't get lost.

Other option could be to ship them to NZ and that someone from NZ (who's also ordered the valves) forwards it to you.
But then
a) I first had to ask if he's willing to do that
b) don't know if the NZ post offers insured shipping to Australia, but I suppose they do
c/ don't know what the extra costs involved will be....

So what do you prefer/want me to do?

Milling hasn't started yet, it's been quite a challenge obviously to make a suitable clamping fixture (hope this is correct english).

The first valves will be finished by Monday September 14.

Valves aren't ready yet, Herbert had some more important jobs that had to be finished asap

Clamping fixture is finally ready now, milling will start tomorrow. Will go and check tomorrow.

Have just come back from Herbert: milling is in progress, but no valves ready in significant numbers. Sorry guys, can't do anything about it myself  Will collect on Monday and then ship the first ones on Tuesday.

Would be great if I could have your payments by Tuesday.

They look superb. Good on ya for Charles having the balls to commission a run of them. :D
Hope everyone appreciates the amount of stress Charles put himself through doing something like this.
Might be up for a set if you do another run or if someone doesn't pony up for their pre-ordered set.
Respect.
