3/8..... 1/2..... You know 20 years before this bike was released the modern world adopted the METRIC system!!!! hahaha
Mind you I have to keep a set of imperials on hand for these odd times.
I have mainly Kingchrome and Stanley tools.
Mind you before I went and picked up my KR1S I had almost no tools, so now everytime I need something it's a quick trip down to the hardware store or my mates shed to find what I need, but he has a shadow board and whines about the blank outlines everytime I don't bring something back.

I came home from work tonight and thought I would finish the bottom end.
After fitting the flywheel with my new torque instrument :D I've fitted the covers and a new drive sprocket and it looks quite canny.I'm going to paint the idle adjuster bracket cos it looks a bit shabby.

The barrells are going to BDK and when they come back I should be able to get the whole thing put back together and into the frame then I'll feel like I'm getting somewhere.

First class work there Pablo, do you know what, I always wondered what that bracket was for

I'm going to nip out first thing & find the idle adjuster (tucked somewhere inside the frame) & bloody well put it in its adjuster

I can not believe how good all those cases came up. I'm around new cars and engines all day and none of them are anywhere near that. Was the aqua blasting expensive?
Looking at who neat the other work you've done is and I'm picturing a workshop with tools laid out on a tray like a surgical tools! =P~

Thanks fellas.Howie I only knew it was the idle adjuster cos it was lying in the bottom of the box almost alone as the jumble of parts became an engine. When I thought I can't remember that :? So I sparked up the parts michrofiche and there it was :D .

J,The guy who did the aqua blasting did a great job,and I'm pleased I took them up there. He charged me £120,I think :-k but they were horrible and I tried everything to tidy them up but they just wouldn't co-operate.

The thing is after the frame was powder coated then it meant that everything else needed to be of the same standard. It's cost way more than I thought but I'm just taking my time.

As for the workshop It's not quite like that,in fact it's nowt like that but I'm slowly moving on from someone whos torque wrench was a T bar with a fork leg slid over the end

Now that that the motor is almost done, and I had some spare time.I thought I might sort out the best of the two pairs of exhausts I have

I've managed to come up with a reasonably good pair by swapping the silencers from one to the other. The pipes have reasonably good black chrome on the tailpipe and expasion chamber, but the front section is a bit scabby. So I'm not sure what to do I'd like to keep the original finish,so I'm thinking I might just paint up to the first weld :-k

The silencers are good too with only a few minor scratches in the ally.

I also spoke to the painter yesterday so I've sorted out the best of the mismatched collection of broken plastic we have :? We've decided to go for the black green paint scheme...........my favorite 8)

Anyone know where I can get the yellow number board stickers. There the only ones I'm missing.I think :-k

Hey Pablo, there is a guy on ebay who does them, I'm sure he's been mentioned on here before?

I would type something like kr1s graphics into the search engine to find him.

I want to know if he can do them in black!

Thanks mate I will have a look.

If I get a set, then I know a chap in Newcastle who can copy them.I'm sure he will be able to do them in Black aswell.Perhaps I should take the seat pod up and see if he can do them from that.

Barrels came back from BDK at the end of the week. They look fatastic so they've been sitting on the kitchen table all weekend.I like shiney stuff :D .

I'm waiting for a gen Kwak head gasket before I put the top end onto the motor.

I'm not overly concerned but one of the pistons seems a wee bit tight.I'll speak to BDK tomorrow.Any thoughts :-k

This is the man.

sales@signs-services.co.uk

Ebay have copyright issues, so he can't advertise. I recently got some decals - not 'Kawasaki' decals if you see what i mean. :^o I got him to change the 's' in kr1-s to red rather than yellow - looks great. \:D/

Very quick service, and reasonably priced.
