Yeah, normally lasts for a bit then I start thinking about altering this or doing that........

Lets face it if I owned an RGV it'd probably look like a christmas tree

I do fancy a black and green 1s but then I'd get bored and decide that really I wanted a blue and black one and out'd come the spanners.

Anyway I don't own an anorak so I can't go down the std route. I mean you'll have me buying olive drab nuts for my hybrid next and taking the valve engine out to put an lc motor (matching nos of course)-see I still maintain that orange should have been a std LC colour
Sorry gratuitous photo warning

standard sucks, as much as i like kr's i couldnt have a stock one.
If you go for standard its gotta be really impressive to make me look twice.
I've only seen two that i could say were stunners.
one is martins kr from this forum. the other is rgvgeoff's pepsi vj21.
Im looking forward to seeing mr wakisakis but i may have lost interest before its built up cos he keeps showing us a pic of every polished nut and bolt

Each to their own in my book. Std if you like it, like I sayt I just like messing

Anyway, anorak time (nearly) for me, thought I'd get all my engine bolts replated, but, sorry, had to deviate a bit, got them done in that black/green colour.

Just didn't fancy shiney head bolts, pleased with the results might get a few more bits done, had swingarm and rear wheel spindles done, might get all the disc bolts done, should be cheaper than replacing them

Got to go to Warrington tomorrow, so a quick divert to Zpower and I can start the engine rebuild

Engine still not built, other things to do and parts needed (bloody royal mail lost my side casing).

But we have a little bit of progress, it's up on it's wheels (for a bit anyway). I've had a bit of a rethink on the zxr front ends and this is my current one now.

zxr400h yokes, with kr stem, but then with the bottom yoke machined out to 52mm (I think!) to take zxr400l legs(top one fits ok)......why?.....Cos I'm finding harder to get good 400h forks. They're all from 89/90 so knocking on a bit now and there are much more good l forks about. 2 other reasons, the 400l forks are the same length as a kr so steering geometry stays similar if not the same and the main one is, 636 forks fit straight in and I've got some coming, dunno if they're going in this one or the other one at a later stage.

The machining and stem swap cost me £30, so quite pleased with that.
I've got the bigger zxr l series discs to go on, just waiting on the adapters for the calipers, I've got about 8 sets of top hats being made for gsxr/zzr/fireblade calipers, both to fit kr and zxr legs, those of you who asked on the other thread (Lee, Charles, BikeMike, Mr Bung) should be sorted if you don't want them when they're done no problem I'll have them and ebay them. Don't know how much yet but shouldn't be dear. I've got a spot on pair of gsxr750 calipers for this, again from the states about £20.

Can't wait for the 636 forks to turn up want to check all this out

Anyway a couple more pics

Well I've run out of things to do with zxr400 bits

Wheel is only placed in, need to do the same as the other one, get the spindle remade/bushed out to fit the zx6r forks.

Got the calipers coming, need them to work out disc and offsett and stuff, got some great information and measurements off Martin, hopefully it may work out quite easy-we'll see 8)
