Carb help please

Hi,
Had these pwk's for a couple yrs now, just got round to cleaning them up ready to fit and noticed that the ally stack that holds the main jet in the float chamber in one carb it has not been machined square, see pic below - it's the right hand carb. It's about 2mm off square.
Question is, is it supposed to be like that & if not will it effect performance of the carb?
