Again stiff KIPS valve

Hi,

MY outer right KIPS valve is a little bit stiff in the way that 1/5 times I turn on the ignition the vslve motor does not manage the first move because. It moves if I just tip it with the finger.

I read that this can be due to a head tighened to hard or not eq.

Can this be the reason? Or what could be the reason?

Thanks
Mouser

Might be worth checking if the KIPS cables are correctly adjusted. Also when the linkages get worn they can jam up if they go "over center". And have a look to see if the cables are fraying and are nice and free.

All worth checking before you strip the head off.

if you have rebuild tor topend and put to much grease on the bottum of the valve it can get stuck because the grease wil push your valve upwards.

check if all the valves have minimum play (you should be able to move them up and down a bit.
those that can't, sand the rind on top of the valves down a bit, or if you have a lath, turn them down.

if your cylinders have been matched in height at one time, it might have been possible the valves where adjusted like I said. if you didn't know about this and swapped valves/used others, the problem re-appeared
