hello again, can anyone tell me how much bhp i would lose running kr1 9 port barrels, instead of the 8 port 1s barrels, but still using the 1s exhausts, as i have a decent set of kr1 barrels, but the 1s, one,s need re-plating and funds are at an all time low for now, must be a few people on here who have run them on 1s pipes, and would i have to run them with the kr1 powervalves, any info much appreciated, thanks guys!

thanks, thats off a 65bhp kr1s engine, so around 3.25bhp?, and i assume i could pull some of that back by matching the barrels to to the cases an cleaning up the ports, and mabey flow the cases? cheers!

Jeez I've never seen a 65bhp KR-1S engine ;) In real money, probably 2.5bhp

I'm aiming for 65-67 on a dynopro, but the highest I've seen is 62.5 from Mark Jordan's engine.

The ports on the KR-1 barrel are smaller, which is where the loss comes from. If you work the ports, they can probably be as good. Not sure if that extra boost port has a negative affect though.

I'm sure Ben means a 250cc KR. It would be the same as claiming one has a 140BHP RD350LC while it might actualy be a 500+ RD

also if im running the kr1 barrells with 1s pipes on the kr1s bottom end, should i run a kr1 cdi as it seems the obvious choice, but id rather ask the experts as im sure theres a twist, there usually is! lol
