When fitting a ZXR 250A front end, does it matter what year it is.

Not to my knowledge. Think the 'A's were '89ish as far as I know all the ones with the 5 spoke wheel are the same. Can't comment on the 'C's etc, but if memory serves they have a different wheel pattern.
