Is there a quick way of testing the power valve motor is okay? stripping the heap down im testing bits as they come off, this one looks clean etc BUT the cables where siezed solid so if it has tried to move in the past it may have burnt it's self out.

anyway i have it in my hand, i could just slap it on the track bike to test but if there is a quick way with a bit of wire and a 12 volt bat that would be cool! (the track bike is ready for brands and i dont wana mess now)

other wise ill wait till the weekend and swap em over..

does it move/return when you turn the ignition on without the cables?

just remove the cables and the tank of the track bike and connect it up. if it turns and stops when the power is turned on then its fine.

What ignition LOL, Nah fraid not mate, it had nothing the bikes been butcherd, its only worth its parts which is why im stripping it and itll become my KR project to work on over winter... the cables where shagged, and there was no ignition, well the wires where there its just they had ALL been cut somewhere! im just taking it all apart and as i do so im making a pile of working and non working bits!!!

Ill just wait and do what elf said!!!

Thanks all!

Pretty sure there is something in the manual about that, will check it out.

Yep thought so click here to go to the electrical system part, on page 15-21 it explains how to test the motor.
Cheers
