coolant leak???

hi guys...got a problem
the water pipe from the pump to the barrels is pissing coolant out after a 130mph thrash wiv a impretza....(he had to use the hard shoulder.he.he)the o ring failed..
engine had a full re-build 300mls ago with new o rings on said part....
i have had problems sealing kwacka pipes like this before(gpz500)and rather than filling it with silicon can i get one machined better?
was thinkin of puttin on some ptfe tape under the o ring in the groove,may or may not work....the parts r just poor....ta
