The garden project

Post by Bikemike »

I thought I would post here to keep an update on progress

First a reminder of how she was when I rescued her

Catch bottle squeezed in- evidence of a racing past

Chances of the powervalves moving?

Probably the genuine mileage, but all flat out!

I'm currently working on the GPZ so I can sell it to raise funds and free up space in the garage for the project so don't expect many more updates soon, but I will get there eventually.

My word! Whoever let that bike fall into that state should be jailed, it's absolutely criminal.
Good luck with it. 8)

KR1 Man calling. Whoever the culprit is, should be given a life sentance of h***a Melody ownership and then I could sell them a cdi unit for it! One day, she'll rise again looking drop dead KR gorgeous. Mind you though, if I had the space, I would'nt mind taking the job on myself; but, as she's now in safe hands, If you need a good aqua blaster/polisher, I can highly reccommend 'Phoenix' on 01202-696365. Very reasonably priced and excellent quality workmanship. All the best, KR1 Man.

Its looks bad now but it can (hopefully) only get better!

Are there many other 2 stroke fans here in 'ampshire?

Any decent breakers in Southampton?

Good luck,

What on earth is that strange arrangment behind the steering damper mount :? Looks very chunky to be just a fairing bracket .
Looks like a good project , especially how the motor is looking inside .

if you look carefully at the first picture, you'll see it IS the steering damper mount, probably 'caus it's to short and not a KR1-model

Well spotted Jan, It is a bodged bracket that mounts on the fairing mount and damper mount to enable the fitment of a standard (short) length damper.
It doesn't work though, it is still not long enough, steering lock turning right is like an ocean liner. Makes it a bugger to turn round in the garage.
The choke also mounts on the fairing bracket as well
