The bike ran 129.978 in 5th gear. My rider is still learning to count to six after running an S1 for a couple years. I'm thinking of having another finger sewn on her gloves.

impressive speed, any engine work? what is the std power output from the sp? is there much diffrence between the kr1r and sp? the kr1r has slightly diffrent port timings to the 1s, with a bit more transfer area i think.

I don't know anything about this bike. Didn't get them here so there is no info available. Everything I have learned came from this forum. Team Sparrow has alot of info though. If it's correct this may not be a real SP. Supposedly NZ took a KR1S and added some 1R bits (cyl, head, carbs etc) but my bike had 28mm carbs not 35's (the lake run was with the 28's, I have 35's on it now). The cyls do have "Slipstream DLW" engraved on them. I'm assuming they have at least had port work done if not the 1R cyls. None of the links on the Sparrow page work so I'm stuck on researching this thing at this point. The manual says the SP has 65hp. If anyone knows anything or has links to online info please post it here. TIA.

An SP was forsale here in NZ a month or two back. They were an NZ only creation and still pop up from time to time. Due to an error in how we order parts here, pistons etc are being reported as "NOT AVAILALBE" when in acutal fact there are a ton of them on the selves at Kawasaki HQ in Auckland! As a result the KR1, KR1s, Kr1R and KR1S -SP are blowing up and being dumped!!
If you need info try calling Paragon Motoercycles, in Wanganui, NEw Zealand during work hours on: dail the international access code for the country you are in, then 64 06 345 0001, or fax on 345 8647 or try afterhours on 345 2112 asking for Geoff the owner or Glenn in the workshop.
They both used to race the KR1/KR1s/KR1r and know a ton about them including history.

Thanks for the info. I have a friend in Oamaru that I can forward the number to. He loves the KR's as much as I do and is my contact for parts/bikes there.
