Hi Guys
I am just about to assemble a set of 1S forks with racetech emulators and a set of linear springs with spacers to suit.
A question of airgap. Standard is 185mm, and I have seen 160 and 140mm listed as a good setting, but wonder if a tighter than 160 (MJ's recommendation) is the order of the day due to the lower volume of the shorter spring with spacer?
All input appreciated!

Re: Front fork airgap
air gap acts as a progressive spring so basicly it comes down to the stiffness of the new spring and whatever you want it to do.

Re: Front fork airgap
started assembly of components only to find the alloy lower is damaged on one leg and jams up about 25mm from bottom.
tip 1: never buy a bike totally stripped to bits with over 70000kms on the clock and expect ANY part to be serviceable.....

Where did you manage to find some linear fork springs from for the KR1S? quite difficult to find the correct size in correct rate.
An air gap of 160 or 140 works well, depending on purpose of use and rider weight etc. measure the oil level with the emulator in.

Give Maxton suspension a call, they have allsorts of springs on the shelf, tell them what you need and they'll tell you the nearest they have to that.
I needed some for my 3xv, they had them to me the next day!

Sounds like they might have some handy old stock!
Will give them a call when I'm looking for next pair
