Just had a read up on the supa fix stuff, might give it a go, got lots of panels etc to repair, usually weild a soldering iron for mine, but will give this a go at the price. Will give it some twisting after to test results

Saw some of this crack filling product being demoed at the Oct Stafford show. The application looked straight fwd and the results tidy. Pour the powder into the crack then sprinkle the liquid hardener over the repair.

In Thailand i saw them repairing plastic panels with Biological washing up powder and superglue.....
Never asked them why they used Bio..haha

I had a new tyre in my shed, so got it fitted and have managed to complete putting together the front end. Just need to get some brake pads to finish.
I have put the discs on the correct way since this photo
I should have the shock back this week. Have cleaned and painted the rear wheel in the meantime
Next job to make a set of exhausts from these

Cleaned the usual build up of 2 stroke, dirt and oil from one set of pipes (too big to photo as its raining and i cant get anything out of the shed to
make room)
Then gave the best set of end cans a polish using wet and dry blocks, wire wool and metal polish. Haven't come up too bad for the first going over
Used a file to remove the weld from bracket on the top can as i want it to be welded the other side once in use. Also reshaped it to a circle

Have got the shock back now
So swing arm can go back in

I finally got everything fitted and connected ready for the second start up session.
Nice to have everything connected properly this time .
Topped up the carbs with premix via short fuel lines i have attached
She fired after 10 kicks which i was pretty happy with considering it hasn't been started for 5 months
Ticked over fine and throttle response was okay - so all good so far
Wiring needs tidying up
Need to fit the airbox, coolant and oil bottles but those aren't big jobs and also finish the rear wheel fitting and brake.
Will need a new tyre and chain/sprockets but may as well wait until next year for those.
While the weather is good sorting the body panels out will be the next job
Will need a bit of work including making new bits for the fairing
Fortunately the tank is pretty mint (needs a clean and polish) and no rust inside which is a bonus

Clocks, footrests, bottles and airbox fitted and back end almost finished
Tank on just to prevent the chance of it getting damaged moving it around the shed

Good job i have accumulated quite a few spares over the years - even though this was 2 bikes, some stuff i couldn't use - almost 30 years of abuse
and neglect I guess.

There were sections missing from both sides of the fairing
Made some cardboard templates
Used the templates on a sheet of ABS i bought on ebay to make new sections
Fixed them in place using Supafix (this seems very strong and sets very quick without a big build up of excess material - recommended).
Once initial fix in place it was easy to add extra glue to strengthen the joint
Stuck bracing behind where the frame brackets attach for extra rigidity
Need to get some filler and then blend in to the rest of the fairing.

should have cut the edges straight, and on the left side cut even more of the original (so the line isn't across the hole), would have made much better contact between new and old
My ultimate goal is to die young as late as possible !

Been doing a bit of paint to the bodywork - long way to go yet. Dream Machine needn't panic

Garry good to see the Supafix in action. I have a candidate job on my C3 just waiting to be sorted. Its a lug "hole" Maccas off this site 3 d printed in plastic for me. Supafix looks like just the bonding solution.
