Hi,

sorry for this newbie question, but how can I distinguish a KR1 engine from a KR1S engine from the outside, without looking at the engine number?

the clutch cover is a little bit different (one bolt less - or is this in the right hand side cover ? , and the oil filler thing is a bit different )

there is an extra boltt on the balancer shaft cover.

but I don't know which is what

well if thats the case i've checked my manual and
kr1 has 7 bolts on the clutch cover and 8 (4x6mm & 4x8mm) bolts on the ballance shaft cover :-k

@ Col :

my mistake

I was shure I've wondered why there was a hole in the right hand side cover, and none in the clutch cover on one off my engines and thought it was a difference between the both.

but now I inspected it closer, and found out that the hole in the clutch cover is cut off (the one on top off the oil filler).

KR1 man calling. There is also one extra bolt underneath on the balance shaft casing of the KR1-S.
