engine goes off

Hi folks

No Fortune with my new bike.
One by one breakdown. :(

during bike run the engine goes off. at ~100km/h
After I drive a lower gear and clutch in, the engine starts again but run only at high revs (>6000).
If I turn the throttle down the engine goes off.
No ride possible.
On the the stand the bike starts few times and stop in short if I don’t hold the throttle up.
At home with “ADAC” (in UK " AA") the engine doesn’t start again.
The light is very poor and I think the battery is empty and won’t load.

Anyone a idea?

Regards
Dirk

OK it can only be either electical or fuel. Get your multimeter out and check the stator and coils (both HT and pick up) as per the manual. Be careful as they tend to fail slowly and/or under load to start with. Also check the carbs for blockages on the slow speed side.

Hi,

i am sure the carbs are clean.
I have cleans both carbs three times and i use fuelfilter beetween petroltank and carbs.
The carbs setup is standard
I am only change the clip from the jetneedle to second from top, because in low\midrange the bike run a little bit to rich.

you could also have an air leak in the system. Try running with the choke on to see if that makes it better. If it does, check the reed blocks and where the carbs join the engine.

hi,

today i will test first the simple things:
battery, sparks, spark-plug socket,cables.
now in autumn, winter i will change the sparks a little bit more warm from 10 to 9.
Than look what happens. [-o<

hi folks,

i have replace the battery and sparkplugs.
Cable plugs are ok.
After x kicks the engine start for few seconds and stop directly..

Another ? problem (perhaps the same cause)
The "old" (only 150km) right hand side sparkplug was very wet, oily and with some deposits.
Left hand side sparkplug darkbrown but ok.

A short time ago i have changed the crank, because the right hand side exhaust has great many smoked and i thought the crankseal is broken-down and the engine burn gear oil.
Now (before breakdown), if the engine warm the right hand side exaust smoke much more than te left if i turn the throttle full.
i have fear the crankcase is defect..
