just got my 35mm carbs thru the post :)

in another post i was on about opening up the reed block/filler....

well the kdx200 carbs came with the reed block complete:
The reed blocks are exactly the same as the kr :o
The reed petals are made from a different material and are thicker/stiffer

but the fillers are a larger size. :D ..dont need to open my kr ones up now
kdx stuff is on left as u look at it...

I just got a 35mm straight inlet rubber of a 1950's Truimph, brand new from the newark auto jumble and cut it in half. I then cut down a standard set of rubbers to fit and match the reed block stuffer then after polishing them flat, bonded them together.

I'd be interested, but I'm sure someone else needs them more urgent.....

Did you know the base stud spacing on a KDX200 barrel is the same as a KR :)

mmmh...... :-k

will have to have a look what the bore and stroke are on the kdx
also it may be worth seeing if the rods/small end bearings are simliar numbers,
oh a 400cc kr1s no need for stanstephens then!!

shite i'm actually drooling =P~

Sorry it is a wind up :)

The stud spacing is the same and little end big end are the same - rod is 3mm longer but there is no way that the barrel will work :)

However :-#

a lot of similiars.... :-k

3mm longer conrod:
thicker head gasket.....deeper head...machined piston....

kr1s 56x50.1 compression ratio 7.4:1
kdx200 66x58 7.9:1

:-k :-k :-k :-k

of course!! it all makes sense now but you had me thinkin you bugger!

1. the powervale gubbins would be intrusive to the point that only one barrel could be bolted down(been a while since ive seen one mind, arent they ''rack/pinion type kips system?

2. the kr is a crank case reed motor, the kdx is piston port/reed valve ala rd350lc ypvs etc etc i think, possibly a half/half sytem like the mk3 gamma?

i got thinking about kx barrels been fitted to kr cases(think there the same stud pattern as kdx but uncertain) though about x2 kx250 barrels and allsorts on a trick crank and then realised the induction situation made things nigh impossible for what its worth in terms of gain vs money. as they say anythings possible but at a price! better off tuning std barrels, there plenty of options inc 300 jobbie if thats your thing. a 400 kr or better still 500 (x2 kx250 barrels!!) could be the ticket for reeling modern tz's and rs250's in the open... Ahem 400!!! would be fun. kitted rgv, dont make me laugh!

like the idea of the divider but cant think why the big manufacturers never thought of it???
