the tz always seem to be photogenic at a race circuit, especially action shots wereas the kr looks on the limit thanks to its awkward looking fairing and limited ground clearance. is this the kitted kr you mentioned? you appear to be trying in the middle pic, certainly getting the best out of what you have!! i have vowed to own a tz250 someday, there a real work of art. thats once i get fast enough to warrant such a dedicated bike. also vowed never to sell the kr as its my first race bike, bult from a road bike by me and would never get my money back, not even close but who cares? im trying to get as many intresting/rare bits as possible or make my own were possible. have one or two ''kit'' replica bits but soon will have a few genuine bits. will post a pic up or 2. im intrested to know what parts in the race kit were made for the kr1s. the nsr had the f3 rame!! intrested in what bits were in the kawasaki f3 package. sorry for sidetracking guys, ill shut up now! cheers matt

the KR in the picture was a proddy racer. It had Bob Farnham tuned head and barrells and bored carbs. Against other KR's of the time (mid 90's) it was definately quicker than some of the best tuned bikes around at the time but the forks were knackerd and hopped badly on the brakes. Mid range was excellent with a great top end - guess I must have a good ignition module.
Some years later I was lent a Kitted KR from Stan Stephens. It had explosive top end power, but little mid range and didn't suit my style.
Crashed it at brands in the october powerbike meeting after getting up to 4th, punted at the hairpin, went mad, too fast and gracefully spat off at the hairpin 5 laps later! - (Sorry Stan

).
The RGV was tuned by Steve Kemp (when working with Bob Farnham), basically a grenade in an aluminium chassis!
TZ was built by Graham File, it took some fiddling to get the best out of it, but when set up good - wow, this thing was quick.
Also had a proddy TZR250. Massive fat mid range but hit a brick wall at 10.5k. Good enough to keep up with 70hp RGV's with a good exit and slipsteaming. Got 2nd and 3rd places at snetterton and pembrey in the supersport races - (a few red faces there). just cant fault the TZR - excellent bike.
