I know this has been discussed recently by Nate but wanted to get some more info.

There are obviously 2 taper roller bearings in the headstock one top and one bottom.
Kawasaki list 2 different part numbers for these bearings
top : 92116-1056
bottom : 92116-1052

Does anyone know what the difference is ?

I have been using 2 bearings of exactly the same type : bearing no 32005
These are 47mm od and 25mm id.

This doesnt seem to be a problem ?

Also i know when Nate bought 2 bearings from Wemoto he got 2 bearings of different sizes ? pattern parts therefore have wrong reference ?

Is the Kawasaki parts list incorrect ?

Should the bearings be identical ?

If the od and id are the same then are the widths supposed to be different ?

Are the bearings rated differently

Yeah... Wemoto seemed to have the wrong data... so I just got them to resend another one... 47mm od 25 id .....

Seemed to fit fine in the headstock (of my KR1-S frame)

No rattling to report....

Didn't realise Kawasaki state two different sizes though... seems a bit odd

I'm interested too... anyone else shed some light on this please... [-o<

I've had a look on a few sites for aftermarket bits and again they list different sizes top and bottom, don't know why or if it's correct.

I've used 32005 bearings in mine and haven't had any problems, again not sure now if this is 100% correct, think I've got some bottom yokes with both bearings on the stem kicking about will check if they're the same size or have any markings on them.

if i remember correctly its cos the bottom bearing has a rubber seal molded to it to stop crap getting in from the front wheel but the top should just have a metal cap to cover it....

both the same dude the bottom does have a rubber seal to keep crap out thats y the part numbers r different coz one comes with a seal and the other doesnt best bet go down ur local bearing shop and il guarentee ul save 1o pounds on each bearing and ul probaly find there better made by gkn nine times out of ten hope this helps
