Thats nice of him, he hasn't another he could give me!
Depends what you mean by rebuild and if you can do your own spanner work! Whatever it is, it will cost!
Is it complete, does it run, or is it a box of bits? If complete, but rattles, water/oil leak whatever and you think the engine needs to come apart:
A rebuild to me means engine strip renew/repair. Repair/repaint bodywork - depends on the level you want.
Ignoring the labour costs, for one barrel new plating is about £100 + piston £45/50 On top is gaskets etc + hidden damage ie scoring on bores etc
Crank. Depends where you go for rebuild. £250 - £450 and some parts NLA
Plastic. Good plastic hard to come across. The bike is probably older than you (no offense) so age will make plastic brittle. the lugs on rear seat crack/snap off. Side panels crack around bolt holes. Top faring around mounts and where the access window for spark plugs.
These are very rough costs - and a small overview of the bike. So dont be put off, it is a great bike, but does need, in my opinion some mechanical knowledge and a bit of tlc. You can download the manual from this site.
Anything you dont know, ask. Somebody will be able to help you. Buz

he told me barrels need replating and pistons replace but said i should save up for full rebuilt just to make sure it is all sort if there is anyover problems
not to sure of the condition of the fairings and that but my mate and his dad to fibre glass and i sucking up to him to try and get them to make me some new fairings
and that the brake seals or something need replacing
i know there quick tuned cause weekend just gone they was racing them at cadwell park but i was wondering what will they do standard and are they like restricted in the exhaust like 50ccs
im not going to put off by how much it cost cause ive really got in to my bikes and am goin to work my way up and it will be money well spent

They are not restricted as standard and with out being tuned they were always the fastest 250 production bike and they also hold the land spped record at Bonnie for the 250 production bike. A very heavily tuned bike is good for a real 140MPH. Most should pull some where near to 130.
For replating I use BDK in Norfolk, I also get my piston kits from there. Depending on what bearings you need on the crank, new seals are about 80 pound plus labour, so budget around 400-550 pound for the parts and replating. The engine is easy to work on so I would do my own labour.

If its been standing for some time then I would think about getting new crank seals fitted as they often go off if left.
The power valve pullies are NLA from Kawasaki, do you have these? If you need any parts then post up in the wanted section and 99% of the time someone on here can help you.
