Been watching for a while - now time for first post



KR1 bought Jan 08 for £780 off fleabay - Knew nothing when I bought it - thought it was a 1-S, turned out to be a 1 with 1-S wheels forks and some bodywork. Kind of got the bug - bought another KR1 and a 1-S rolling chassis + all sorts of parts & bits (how come all KR1's are in South Wales?)

Gradually done all the obvious tasks, chain, sprockets, plugs, pads, airfilter, gaskets - fitted braided steel brake lines - generally tidyied it up. Have spent a frustrating year trying to identify various fluids from underneath the bike - thought I had cracked it (it had just run out of fluids) but seem to be OK now - just been for a final 20 mile shakedown test (on a SORN but who's counting).

Leathers bought off fleabay, trailer from fleabay, The easy group booked at the PB 90's Trackday at Cadwell next week (not ridden there for 12 years - when I outbraked myself and chased a marshal across the grass)

If you are going, see you there! - I could be in the market for an engine rebuild next week! - it's either going to go fast, or go bang - probably both!)

nice bike... wont go band they nice and reliable if they not tuned stupidly

Shame to track day that can you not S-T-R-E-T-C-H to an old nargared fairing & plastics. Alan.

you've got some nice plastics there - looks like you've done a good job

the top fairing hasn't got cracks in the normal places - will be a worth
a bit so don't drop it!

I'm getting pissed of with this site & close to packing it in "Have been for a while" . I have no idea what kind of bloke I come over as on here. But there are to many Snipes, on to many post's. It may be said in humour & I might be overreacting, but it's the written word.... I for ONE am not in any autosol brigade.( Ive got the scar's to prove it.) & I haven't got a problem with anyone who is...... Alan.

As I read this back it seems overreaction. But I'm saying it anyway.

Some of the best KR's I've ever seen are on here are original and if I had a complete original one then boy would I look after it. Unfortuantly I've spent over 5k on a pig ugly slow race bike that's in real need of a clean .

To get back on topic there are three of us here on the trackday and we are all in the fast group so pop over and say hello.

you brought the bike of a bloke in bridgend i sold it him and john tt600 had it before me =D>

looks the same as i sold it (apart from the extra stickers )
thats one of the best engine ive ever had the bottom end has been gas flowed and ported (it gos like a rocket)

Good to know its got some history - I did buy it in Bridgend - hard to know how well it goes - no frame of reference (ride a ZZR1100 to work) its dead up to 6k then it just takes off! - will strip the engine over the winter and see what she looks like inside. last 3 years MOTs show hardly any milage - will give it a good thrash round Cadwell to blow out the cobwebs
