OK, ended up googleing this "monkey hanging" story after curiosity got the better of me.
Personally, I'd be more concerned about offending monkeys!pablo wrote: I would'nt want to offend any frenchmen that might be reading this thread.

Right I've made a wee bit of progress with the KR1s.So far its frame and wheels powder coated. All the bearings and seals replaced head race all shock linkages and swinging arm.I pressed them in with a home made tool does threaded bar and an assortment of old sockets sound familiar to anyone
New fork stantions and rebuilt forks with new seals. The rear shock was destined the bin but I was put in touch with a bloke who used to work for ohlins and he worked magic on it rebuilt it with a new rod, seals etc .
One good set of instruments made from two not so good ones.
New discs front and rear, brakes front and rear master cylinders stripped cleaned, repainted and rebuilt with new seal kits. The two front calipers were a right off found some on ebay and stripped them repainted and rebuilt, new pistons, seals etc.Swopped the rear for a better one I had in the spares bin but that was fully rebuilt too.New brake hoses from this chap http://www.japanesemotorcyclebrakehoses ... index.html good reproductions of the originals.
Lots of cleaning polishing and painting.
Motor next its a mess
