Well I decided to brave the weather on Sunday and headed to Manfield for the Vic Club track day. First two sessions were very wet but by 11am weather was perfect with a completely dry track and plenty of heat to keep tryes sticking. Unfortuantly some idiot left oil on the track and the result was one damaged KR1. The dickhead who put oil on track had earlier that day reported a missing oil filler cap on his ZXR636. An annoucement was put over the PA looking for a spare oil filler cap, no one came forward. The guy was then offered a refund because he was unable to compete. So that should have been the end of him, but no. After accepting the refund he proceeded to duct tape up the gapping hole where oil filler cap should have been and joined in. Completely unware of what had happened a friend on a KTM660SMR an I were following the said ZXR636. Just as we were pitching in to turn two the ZXR636 went down followed by the KTM then yourstruely. On closer inspection the ZXR636 was covered in oil. Need I say more. Talk about pissed off.

Pissed off would be an under statement, but what really gutted me was that my blue mirror tint lens on my helmet got scratched. I can fix the bike but not the lens.

Another stinking hot day at Paeroa, apart from an early morning shower which cut the practices short it was a cracker day. Grid positions where pre determined by names drawn out of a hat?! meant I started somewhere near the back. All in all I managed 17th out of 34, better luck next year. Some guy approached me in the pits looking for a KR250 tandem and said he was the current Western Austrailia 250 champ, he said he used to race one back in the mid eighties. Unfortunatly I didn't meet up with col though. Here's a picture of me from race day.
