here is my new toy, Ok, its not a KR, or a kawasaki, or a motorbike or even a car.
I have decided with two other friends to take up lawn mower racing so I will be spending the next few months pimping it up.
cheaper than trackdays (not difficult). Still think the racing will be quite competitive though and physiclly hard work (espescially the 12 hr endurance)

oh yes been there done that, make sure you get yourself a kidney belt. the 12hr is a killer and you will have to get used to the constant questions about does it still cut the grass, the top guys get upto 50 mph does not sound much but its plenty fast enough when your being thrown about all over the place.

what are the regs re engine/mods? surely 50mph must be with another motor and not a lawnmower based lump? i think guy martin has done a bit of lawnmower racing at some point. i bet 50mph is more than enough on the rough stuff.

engines are about 13hp max. No mods are allowed except removing the governor. Exhausts can be replaced/modified. Unfortunately, there aren't many two strokes
theres plenty of it on youtube - it looks fast enough to hurt!

they have changed the rules about since I was doing it, as the ride on mowers were only allowed to no more than 8hp so it was all down to gearing but people fitted all sorts of mods toothed belts bike clutches, bike brakes. there were some big names invol ved too several of f1 team guys were involved and autosport I grew up in the village it all started at its been going since the seventys so is qiute well established good fun not quite bike racing but as scooble says its cheap to get started and a good laugh.

Got an off road moped sat here, needs a new carb and some TLC but it wouldn't take long to get her race ready.
Who's up for it then???
