Facebook

I like a lot of people have moved over to Facebook
( I have moved not because I wanted to but because it seems it’s the way forward)

I have just posted up trying to advise someone not to use a pattern head gasket( anyone
That knows there way around engines knows for various reasons not to use pattern head gaskets).

On here when it was running everyone knew this and advise was given to people,

I am trying to advise people on Facebook ( as a lot of you know I know about kr,s)
But it seems there is a lot of people on Facebook that don’t have a clue and advise people wrong,

Thats social media for you, any idiot with a smartphone has access to comment on anything that is posted.
Forums are still the place for enthusiasts.

One thing I find really annoying is people giving bad advice on something they have zero personal experience about

That's why this forum is so important all the answers are already here if you look hard enough.

Also the people who are still active are the die hard enthusiast who know their onions.

Facebook is the ultimate proof of how stupid mankind is.

No wonder I don't use it 8)
You know it's cold outside when you trip over dog shit instead of standing in it.

There was a guy on there the other day saying
He knew of a Kr1s that had over 80 bhp and did 147 mph.

There are also people on there trying to tell people that kr,s when tuned
And sorted will give 65-70 bhp.
Another thing that we all know is not true,
A lot of people over the years on here could not reach 60 bhp

Facebook is so quick and easy to use, any old idiot can post a - usually poorly-spelled or barely readable - reply in seconds without putting any thought or effort in.

You sometimes get crap advice on forums too of course, but you have to put a bit more effort in so it tends to weed out most of the bottom-feeders.

The facetube has it's benefits, but it's not the same.
You can tell someone your advice and instead of it being taken positively, some one will always put a negative, or derogatory spin on it.
You have to remember that facebollox gives people digital spanners that they have used on daily basis. But very rarely used a real spanner!

100% agree on this , there are people who just take on an opposing view because they are ideots. On here you can see who knows their stuff, either by post count, number of years on here or rebuild thread. On fac.... people just pop up with a comment made whilst sat on a bus.

Martin you can only offer sound advice, you cant always ensure its taken on board.
