HOW DO WE GET THE FORUM MOVING AGAIN

Post by martin » Sun Jan 06, 2019 6:27 pm

I am starting this thread as like most of you have moved to Facebook because for many reasons.
1. It’s easier
2. It’s how thing have become
3. Posting photos is a pain compared to Facebook
And also. Loads and loads of other reasons.

I for one would like to see the forum. Become up there again.

So can I start this thread. With people coming on this with ideas.

Great info John,
Having a simple and easy way to post photos should help things along.

I think it's because there are just not the numbers of people who own KR1 KR1S bikes

I am an outsider really as I first came on this site to get wheels etc for my LC Hybrid (tut tut) but ended up staying which was several years a go

I don't use faecebook either and use flickr to do pics which is pretty easy
Photobucket relented and you can use them again but you get a big f##k off photobucket logo across your pics
Can it yer old boiler

You are right Martin. There are not the amount
Of kr owners out there.
But would be nice if the forum got going again.
I for one from now on won’t give any info up on Facebook
Anymore, in future if anyone asks for technical advise ,instead of giving the answer, I will just say. Check out the Kr1s forum for all info

To be honest, lately I have given good advise and even though I was correct
In the advise I gave, I got insulted as certain people did not know what they were talking about, it’s a shame

I for one would like to get the forum going but am afraid Facebook has taken over,
only if you let it ... you can also say a big F*** Y** to M*** Z********* . it's realy not that difficult.
Sometimes I miss things because I'm not filling his pockets, but than I just think that my pockets are still my pockets and I don't mind.

in the same way, I'll never ever buy something from Amazon, Bol.com, Coolblue, or any other mega-online seller, nor do I use any official Google products . Internet should be free and not be owned by a dozen companies. They are ruining us and our economy and we let them simply because they are a bit cheaper or free (but we all know, nothing is free).

God (=David Bowie, just so everybody knows  )I love South Park and their view on the (American) world.

my personal view : the KR-community that still effectivly rides their bikes is probably too small to survive. Maybe it's time for a joint-venture with other 2-stroke fora like the tunning works or similar.
If the forum simply becomes a place to search for original parts/rebuils, I' d lose interest quickly and sadly that's what it is becomming

Hi Jan,
Don't you fancy doing another KR Special?
Or some more development work on your CAD Head/inserts?
Cheers

I don't know if the RGV forum has moved to FB

but the RGV web forum is pretty much flat lined
Sean rearranged the content and just deleted peoples topics - I had one on Japan scans
then if THEIR old forum stuff is just going to be non searchable or disappear, then the posts have the same 2 day longevity as FB content does

Hi Danny
I hope that doesn't happen here, I will do as much as I can to try and keep it running.
We could do with a couple of nice projects/specials
Cheers

I feel that Danny is correct
As that’s the way the world is going,
But I know that Facebook does, not have the people with the same knowledge
As some people on here.
I also feel if just a few of us can post regular and when on Facebook people ask for technical data. , just point them in the kr forum direction, surely there will be a chance,

I will be very soon start building John Farley’s special 300cc engine,
Once I have built it. It will be shipped off to bernie to work with mick
Abbey on the dyno and mick abbey make bespoke pipes for it. Hoping to break 70bhp (maybe)

Hopefully things like this may get things going.

going to start a page with all the port maps and exhaust dimensions from RS/TZ over multiple years Some Table Data showing sequential stage opening of A B C transfer ports

the conclusion you can draw without any simulation modelling is
the standard KR-1 exhaust opens too late ~91.5deg ATDC (the fuel is burnt, work done, the piston slowing on stroke) - should be nearer to 82-84° = 25.7mm ATDC
the standard transfers flow too early (not enuf blowdown - © 2Tinstitute) opening just 25° after the exhaust port - by raising main exhaust roof alone this increases the delay to 31° after exhaust which is much closer the 32° A-transfer timing found on eg the H0NDA RS125/250
