JL - Jim Lomas pipes

Post by KR-1R » Tue Jan 08, 2019 10:22 pm

JL - Jim Lomas
mild or stainless with stainless, carbon or Kevlar muffler/silencer options
by far the most popular KR chambers
warning: fitment problems of fairing belly pan, can also be tricky to seal oil leaks, and possibly chain rub

Hard to pick a favourite out of those but I think the Jolly Moto's edge it for me...Not overly impressed with the finish / manufacture on my JL cans and they needed a small amount of filing to get them to fit the chambers...

I have had Nikkon and Lomas pipes, I liked the quality and finish of the Lomas pipes better (and the header spring mounts were x10 better on the Lomas pipes).
I never checked the internal finish of the headers, that's another item on the todo list.

EXHAUSTS OF JANBROS :

Image

copies made on the outside of originals, by spotwelding plates on the joint and hammering them into the correct form, then cut them lose and weld the 2 halves together. Diameter is slightly bigger, but you lose the thickness of the joint, so all-in-all, shape and volume are about the same.

main difference : 2 copies weigh less than 1 original, and the sound is what it always should have been : sharper and with a "metalic touch" .
Never felt any difference in power compared to originals, so maybe this is THE best solution for weight and power, appart from the look which of course is beaten big time by Lomas etc...
You know it's cold outside when you trip over dog shit instead of standing in it.
